About the course
This innovative course will help you merge your passion for film and television with valuable skills and knowledge of the thriving games industry.
You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the factors which shape the games industry and the techniques and principles used in the design of games. Simultaneously, you will gain a broader understanding of film, television and screen-based media.
You will have the opportunity to design and analyse digital games as well as explore the ways in which film and television relate to history, culture and identity.
- Game design is at the core of what we teach on this programme and is a multi-disciplinary skill that covers the creation of rules, art, software use, communication, writing and much more.
- The degree is designed to take those with an interest in games and creative thinking and provide them the skills to communicate their ideas effectively as game designers.
- No 3D modelling, programming or computer science background is necessary, just a passion for games and desire to study or become involved in creating them.
- You’ll acquire the conceptual and theoretical skills necessary to engage with film and television products as well as games, and analyse how they work at aesthetic, social-cultural and institutional levels.
